The Green Villages pilot in partnership with Trees for All has reached an active and engaging phase in Seebi Gram Panchayat, Tumkur. So far, 12,500 saplings have been distributed and planted across nine villages, and 218 farmers have completed all six modules of the sustainable agriculture curriculum. Women Green Motivators continue to guide farmers on soil health, biodiversity, pest and water management, and waste segregation, while Eco Business trainings are underway to support green livelihoods.
A major highlight this quarter was the Farmers’ Green Festival held in August 2025, where over 200 farmers came together to celebrate sustainable farming. The event featured experiential learning stalls on soil health, seeds, pest control, waste management, and biochar. Farmers and Green Motivators shared how they’ve shifted from chemical farming to natural practices like composting, mulching, while others showcased kitchen gardens as examples of improving household food security. The festival created an inspiring sense of collective ownership toward ecological restoration at the village level.
