Programme
Buzz Women has made progress simple, practical and locally owned. We use just four ingredients to make this happen: 1. a bus with a driver & learning facilitator 2. a beehive, local learning group 3. an anchor woman leading the beehive 4. a curriculum with ready-to use knowledge, skills and tools. In every village a permanent education system is established, led by the women themselves.

"When the bus is gone, progress goes on"
The trainings
The buses help us reach the last mile, the remotest villages of India and The Gambia. The participants of the trainings are low-income women, literate and illiterate, who are homemakers, agricultural labourers, daily wage workers, and women who run micro-enterprises.Â
Â
The women are not required to take out additional travel time and sacrifice their responsibilities to attend the training. With our buses we can organize our training sessions anywhere under the sky.
Inner Power Training
The Inner Power Training is delivered in two half-day sessions with a week’s gap between the first and the second session. During the training we focus on the three pillars: cash, confidence and climate. We encourage the women to challenge their attitudes and beliefs, while giving them the skills and tools to do so.
Buzz Anchor
On the second day of the Inner Power Training, every batch identifies and nominates one woman as their Community Anchor from among themselves. They become Buzz's change agents and role models for the other trained women. We support the anchor women in their journey to become community leaders through extensive training in the Anchor Women Fellowship. The anchor women are key to handholding the sustainability of the programme as they bring back their knowledge to the community in the Buzz Beehive sessions.
Anchor Women Fellowship
This programme is for the community anchor women. They will be trained by Buzz staff in 6 modules focused on self-awareness, communication, constructing the ideal village, and leadership skills. This will equip them with the tools and skills to become a change agent in their community. The anchor women will be organizing monthly learning sessions in their village with their Buzz Beehive.
Buzz Beehive
The Buzz Beehive are the monthly learning sessions organised and led by the anchor women in their own community. The Anchor Women share the knowledge they gained from the Anchor Women Fellowship training. The sessions are held through peer consulting, without the intervention of Buzz staff. The women can discuss their problems and propose ideas. Many community initiatives came from these meetings.
Buzz Digital
Buzz Digital is our resource library that reinforces knowledge through audio, video, games and written content.
Buzz Business
This programme provides mentorship and incubation to women entrepreneurs in the larger Buzz family. We also focus on helping women to get organised into cooperatives and start their own group enterprise.
